Itomek, a 250 is a great place to start...if you buy a Ninja you are still welcome here ! You could also start on the EX-500 (a little more cc's, same frame). Good luck on your decision, glad to have you here.

hmm... thanks for the great feedback, very interesting. I did check out that Ninja 250R, it looks pretty neat. I didn't think about the insurance aspect. Is the insurance much higher than for a car? i guess I would imagine so...

For full coverage the answear is "yes" it does cost more than a car insuranceexample for motorcyclefull coverage it will cost you anywhere from $250-350 a month for(600cc sportbikes). If you buy a motorcycle with less "cc's"likea ninja 250I am sure the insurance won't be as much.Keep in mindthis is only temporary the price will go down as long as you keep the insurance for a long time with the same company,I have friends who only pays $80 per month for full coverage only because they have been with their insurance company for a long time. I only have liability it cost me $301 dollars a year (about $27 dollars a month). I am not worry about health plan or death plan only because I have good plans from my company I work for. If you do buy a brand new bike don't forget to buy extended warrenty and gap insurance they are good to have just in case. Hope this help ya out.

I pay $285/yr for full coverage on my 07', but as OG said, I have 3 cars on the same plan so that helps bring it down.

Yes cuz motorcycles are toy's. Call your insurance company and get quotes from them, ask them how much for acbr and a ninja 250. Insurance for my cars I use farmers. For my bike I use progressive direct.

I don't understand why would he be laughed at for riding a ninja 250r? A ninja 250r are great for starters if they choose to ride it. I see riders on a ninja 250r I don't laugh at them what so ever I give them a thumbs up just because they are willing to learn how to ride on 2 wheels. Speak for yourself if you think riding is all about speed and looks. [&:]

ITOMEK, I'M PRETTY NEW TO RIDING STREET MY SELF. ONLY 2 YEARS UNDER MY BELT. IF I COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN I WOULD START ON A 600. I BOUGHT A 500GS SUZUKI FOR MY FIRST BIKE BECAUSE INSURANCE AND COST OF THE BIKE WAS FAIR. I WANTED SO MUCH MORE SHORTLY THEREAFTER. IF YOU DECIDE TO GO WITH A600 THE SPEEDIS THERE AND THERE EASY TO MANEUVER. WHAT EVER YOU DECIDE WELCOME TO THE FORUM.
