Default What should i be looking for/asking about when looking at bikes?

Well, the title kinda speaks for itsself. I'm getting my license tomorrow (coming out of the MSF course atm), and i've been looking at a lot of reeally nice F2's and F3's. but i'm not sure what i should really be looking for? So far i've pretty much been asking about maintenance records, clean titles and if the tires have tread. What else should i be worried about on a new bike? Also, when i finally do buy it, what should be checked up on or anything like that? Thanks a lot.

BTW i'm a new member but i've done a lot of reading here.

check sprockets to see if they're worn down or chipped, check for leaks underneath where the bike is sitting, maybe even ask if he can take a fairing off to look at the goods underneath

Did you see the sticky thread at the top of this forum sectionthat links to this write-up:

Personally I wouldn't buy a used bike I couldn't test ride first, at least enough to take it up and down the gears, see if it tracks straight, etc.
