Default New bike owner W/PROBLEM

Hey everyone this is my first bike and I love it so far. It's a 2002 cbr 600 f4i. Im having a problem with it overheating while stopping a lot or just being stopped. It reaches 250 when the light comes on but once I get back to moving for a little it starts to go back down. I do hear the fan come on at times but I can't tell when or if it's on when it gets hot. I plan on checking the fan, and coolant tomorrow, is there any tips or tricks I need to know or check? Thanks for any help.

PS. Im not sure how to post pictures on here yet. Lol

Welcome to the forum.

To get help with your overheating problem, it might be best to post your questions here :-https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-forum-11/

The guys there have specific knowledge of your bike.

Personally I would think maybe the thermo switch for the fan/ thermostat/ maybe the system needs a flush to clean out any gunk and of course, is there enough coolant in there?

Alright guys, I figured it out. I flushed the radiator and before I done that I seen it was real low so that was most of the problem. And also the fan was stuck, so I freed that up and everything seems to be working fine now.

I have lowered it one inch to fit me a little better, added an adjustable kickstand, black mirrors, and black windscreen. And I also just had some Dunlop tires put on.
