Just sold my '81 GL500 and the buyer didn't want their F4 so I gave them a discount on the GL and now have an F4 to work on. I love fixing up older bikes and bringing them back to life. Although, I'd have to say I like the 40 year old machines better than this 20 year old one, there are way more parts and systems on this F4 than the GL/CX bikes. I have also rebuilt an '81 CX500. I had a bunch of help from the CX forum and learned a lot and looking forward to doing the same here and hopefully even help out others as well.
Here's what I picked up, a purple spray painted '99 CBR 600 F4X:
Welcome in fella great project I think some of mine has the same purple I'm gonna have to find a match as mine needs some touching up, are you going to start a resto thread on her so we can all see her come to life?
Honda certainly did excellent job designing and building these bikes! Frame & engines still in working condition decades later! Just matter of cleaning up carbs of varnish from all that sitting around.
