Default need advice on a 900rr

I'm new to the board. A friend is selling his 1993 cbr900rr, and I'm thinking of selling my 1986 gsxr1100 and buying his bike. The cbr is in extremely good condition but has lots of miles ... over 50k. Does anyone here have any experience with high mileage cbr900rr's? What mechanicals are prone to failure? Or do these things simply last forever? Thanks.

Hondas are built to last! But why so many miles? Lots of highway travel? Give us a few stats on both bikes and prices and we can be more help to ya........But initially I would say go with the honda!

Over 50k miles... what are you guys talking about!!! That's nothing, I have over 13k on my 2005 600RR. You're talking about a bike that's 13 years old. Is he the original owner? See if he knows about the service history. Like oil changes and valve adjustments. Any wrecks and so on.

Second owner, no wrecks, and based on my knowledge of the current owner, flawless service record ... at least while he's owned it which I think is for about ten years. He's talking about putting on new tires and then asking $4k. I'm thinking of offering a bit less for the bike as-is ... like maybe something closer to $3k. Ideas?

not so sure its worth $4K, or not so sure I would pay that much for it....would imagine you could do better for the same money.....but overall sounds like the bike was taken care of...
