Default Advice for 1995 CBR 900RR following accident

Hello CBR Forum! I am hoping to get advice from your collective selves regarding how to move forward after wrecking my ’95 CBR 900RR. My question is this: If in my shoes, would you try to part out the machine, or just sell it as is to another to do the same (or for them to keep themselves to pillage for their own use)? I have owned this bike for ~10 years, and have always taken excellent care of it. It always ran like a top, and never let me down. I believe it has just over 30,xxx miles, and is mainly stock (other than things like full D&D exhaust, APE manual cam chain tensioner, K&N air filter, etc.) The one fortunate thing about the accident is that I was able to get off payment before it went down, so I would hope that structurally it is sound. (Visual inspection certainly backs this thought as well.)

I have a couple of pics I could share, but have been unable to figure out how to post them. If someone is willing to offer to assist or host, I’ll be happy to share. The bike is located in Peoria, IL, and I have the title in hand. It’s been sitting in the garage, and it’s time for me to move on as I need the space back. Any thoughts on how best to proceed? One last comment: Though this is my first post, I am an active member on another motorcycle forum – however it is more devoted to adventure riding. I thought this question would best be answered on this forum – one that I have lurked on for years… Feel free to PM me with any questions or suggestions as well – I’m all ears!

Is fixing it not an option?

If you want to spend the time selling and shipping bit by bit, go for it. If not sell it as it is and be done with it.

To post pics, use photobucket and copy the IMG link to your post.

Default Thanks Demon...

...for chiming in. (I am still trying to post some pics to show the condition, just haven't been succesful in that endeavor yet.) To answer your question, I imagine fixing could be an option, but not for me - unless you can increase the number of hours that are in a day. That's why I was curious to know what others might do in this situation. I will continue to try to get the pics I've taken uploaded, and would be happy to E-mail as attachments if you're curious. In the meantime - thanks again for the input, and hopefully we'll get more comments that will result in a consensus.

Any interest from anyone to buy whole - as is? Hate the thought of scrapping it, but don't have the time to part it out... Feel free to shoot me a PM if so or to discuss. Thanks!

Looks like she took a fair tumble. Glad you're still here to post pictures.

I'd be keeping it as spares or parting it out. If you're intending to get a similar bike, a spares source is good.

Cheers, SB

Curious..
why dont you just street fighter it??
especially with the condition its in.. it owes you nothing..
personally i'd keep it.. and check out the streetfighter section. you'd be surprised with creative minds do with wrecked bikes..

I was thinking the same thing. I'd love to do it myself. wish I was local to you.
if you are giving it away I'd take it. unfortunately shipping costs +your selling price prolly make it a not cheap project.

out of curiosity, if you want, PM me your price for it.
