Default Insurance problem

I just bought a 2005 cbr600rr and i only have my permit so. Rider insurance company wont insure the bike unless I have a license not a permit and the dealer wont let me take the bike unless it is insured. So how do i get my license without a bike???Or is there a way the dealer can give me temporary insurance till i can go get my license??

the fastest way is to take the road course through the DMV and borrow someones small bike to pass it. the best way to get your license is to take the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) Course and that will waive your road test and give you your license. however, being that it is October, it is probably too late to register for the MSF course until Say around March/April.

p.s.

i had only a permit when i moved to so cali and bought a zx-9r in 01 but i still found an ins co out of MN to give me full coverage
insurance cos have become more discerning but i still think there's a bunch of smaller ins cos from the 'heartland' states who'll insure a rider even with a permit

do some legwork - call every one listed in the yellow pages
its a matter of time before you find an ins co

good luck ! and have fun riding ...

MSF Course = 2-3 days
DMV - Borrow a bike or call a scooter rental place to meet you. They show up an hour before and you can work with the bike for that time.

Where are you from....I could recommend some places if in NJ.
