Hey guys does it really matter what kind of CBR i get if its a 250 on L's or if i get a 500? what are the risks? (australia L's must use 250 and under for first two years)

 

I'm slightly biased, and personally dont think most people under the age of 25 should havea street bike, unless you have been on two wheels since you were two. Seems when a person is at that stage in life, your ***** are bigger than your brains. dont take that as a slam against yourself, or any other young person(although I know everyone will-again) Its just a mass generalization that can be proven right and wrong all day long.

Now, I realize that is only my opionion, so beyond that, I think getting a 250 is a good thing for you.It will allow you to learn to ride and be comfortable with the bike without getting into too much trouble on your own. You will still need to look out for everyone else that is out to kill you.

 

I agree with krash. I'm 19 and have a 600, but I've been riding since I've been walking. One of my earliest memories is drving my mini-bike through our neighbor's fence.
I realize that I'm not invincible and I've crashed so many times in my life, to be honest my bike scares the hell out of me. And that's the way it should be.
Just go with the 250. That's what I would do if I were you.

Yeah, my first 'street' bike was a 250. I started with an 80 and went from there... and I was a youngster. I still respect the hell out of motorcycles and now with a 1000rr I even more conscious of everyone and everything around me.

Take it slow.. take it easy.. stay safe and stay alive.
