I started MX at the age of 5 on the field behind our farm.. after a couple of years i started in a danish MX Club, Grimhøj Motocross Club.. after some years only driving mx i started to drive roadrace small 125ccm/250ccm.. then i started to drive motard to gather points for superbike license.. got my license.. started out superbike and crashed really hard.. destroyed my bike and back/knee/elbows.. so i stopped doing motorsport.. after some years i stopped driving motorcycles completely, sold my Ninja streetbike.. so haven't been driving for 20 years.. then the other day i was helping a friend of mine moving out of his old house because of a divorce.. so he's moving into a small apartment and not much storage room.. and he has an old motorcycle parked in the garage.. he's been trying to sell it for a long time which he hadn't any success at.. so he gave it to me.. as a thanks for being a good friend and always helping out where i can..
So now i'm the lucky owner of an old Honda CBR1000F MC21
It passed inspection 3 years ago and haven't put any miles on it since.. it's been stored inside.. so it's been dry.. it starts up but running rougly and won't take gas.. but hey it been in storage for 3 years.. old gas in the tank and quite dusty etc.. so i guess it needs at good cleanout of the carbs/airfilter new oil etc... it needs a caring hand. but hey it was free, no complaints here.. so i have a project for the winther.. i will strip it down have it painted and start getting back into riding again..
i hope i can find some inspiration to paint/modding etc here and some form of community to get back into ridding again
Don't know much about the cycle.. but i'm going to find out it's a MC21 so it must be from 87-89 first time registered in 03/1991
This is from when we pulled it out of storage, sheilds of to get to battery and changing plugs and get to carbs etc.. but all fairings are there and not broken.. needs a paintjob..
Welcome to the forum, bike certainly look like it has seen some use...
Can't wait to see how it looks when you are finished with it. Great to see and old 'girl' being rescued.
