Hello and Welcome. Age and Wisdom go hand in hand I hope. Anyway I would advise you to start of small. Also check into a local MSF.

48 is too old if YOU think it's too old. In other words, don't worry about acceptance from anyone else if it is something that you really want to do. Just do it. Just take it easy until you get your footing....

When I went to take my MSF BRC, the oldest student there was 62 and was buying a Harley. Age is just a number when she can legally say "Yes"

Welcome aboard

I'd say that a CBR might be just what you need to keep you feeling and acting young. It works for me anyway. I'm 38 and people still say that I act like a 12 year old sometimes. Um, that's a good thing right??

Read everything you can on this forum to help you decide on a bike that's right for you and just start out slowly, wear the proper gear, and especially use what's between your ears, and you'll be fine.

Good luck, and let us know what you decide.
