hey hows it going... i need some help im new to this bike stuff and i found a 1991 cbr 600 and they are asking $1500 for it...
Specs:
91 honda cbr 600, about 36k miles. it has been down on both sides, it is bomb can blue, with only some of the fairings, basically just the top ones. will need a rear tire, this one has maybe ~500 miles left. aftermarket exhaust, d&d...
please let me know what you think thanks....

welcome, bro.
hard to say without hearing the bike and looking it over...but a $1500 bike can turn into a $2500 bike real quick if it needs a list of things. start it. listen to it run. check for leaks. ask maintenance questions...have the valves been adjusted recently? oil changed? my best advice would be to take it to a shop and have them put together a list of things it might need/listen to it run. paying the shop an hour labor to have a professional look it over could save you in the long run. especially if this is your first bike. (if you are just learning how to ride, that makes taking it in to a shop a little tougher...but, you could always find someone in your area that would be willing to help you out. test ride it. all that. that's my second best advice. maybe someone on here). the fact that it has been down a couple of times too...gotta be careful with that. if the frame is jacked, then that could be a real problem. where you at?

Welcome to the forums!!
I will be honest here ... I don't like it!!, from your picture and description it sounds like a rough old dog to me, all the fairing lowers are missing, the front mudguard is missing, it's been painted up and down the road at least twice, both sides you say ...it doesn't even have good tyres ... if you spent money on this bike together with the $1500 you will pay for the bike itself it could have gone towards a much better bike ...AND there are lots of older and very decent CBRs still around and some with factory original fairings and paint ...
I feel you can do a lot better than that one, sorry if it's not what you wanted to hear but I have always believed in buying the very best you can afford because it is often cheaper in the long run!! :-)
Good luck and let us all know how you get on
Jules :-)
