Help Diagnose my engine nock
Hey everyone,
Can you please help diagnose this nock that comes from my transmission area. When I put the bike up on a stand and put it in gear there are knocks that come from behind the drive sprocket area. After the knock the chain jumps. When changing gears the it feels "clunky", but has no problem going into the next gear. I am going to try and attach a video of what it does. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would love for it to be something that I can repair or adjust without going to the shop.
ps. couldn't attach video, any help on that would be great to. I currently have it saved as a quicktime video.

Welcome aboard, man. It could be something as simple as a binding chain.... could be more. A vid would help.
The best way to post a video is to upload it to youtube. The video has to be uploaded to a host before we can use it.
Youtube works well because you can copy the URL into a post here and it will embed it right in.

the most common cause is a chain thats in need of attention or replacement. Have seen this many times. the quickest cheapest way to check to see if this is what is happening in your case is to thoroughly clean the chain, and the wax/lube it, and see if it improves. I know it sounds like the simplest thing...but trust me when I say..more than likely, thats your problem, CBR's while not bullet proof, are as close as you'll get to it in the sportbike world when well maintained.
