Hello - new member & new rider here
Hi there,
I just wanted to introduce myself - I am a new member here and a fairly new rider. I'm 36 years old and I took a motorcycle course 3 years ago. I just purchased a 2002 CBR 600 F4I with 6400 KM's on it (not sure how many miles that is - maybe half?) and I brought it home tonight. I bought it for $6500 Canadian, which is par with the US dollar, but for some reason ALL vehicles in Canada still cost 10 - 20% more than they do in the US - so I still got a fair deal for a "mint" bike.
It was a short ride home but man am I RUSTY! I took it real easy and it took some getting use to how sensitive the throttle is! By the time I got home I was getting use to it but I am definitely going to stick to my local streets for awhile and practice, practice, practice.
Anyways the bike is in mint condition and only had one owner who was 59 years old! He babied this thing and it was cleaned after each use - not that it was used that much. He bought a Ducati so he needed to sell this - and I was happy to buy it.
I will be looking for tips and advice here and hope to be a contributing member of the forum once I figure out what the hell I am doing.

Don't feel bad, my F4i has a crazy on/off throttle response too. It takes a while to get used to it, but every once in a while I feel like a spaz. Some members claim a PCIII helps to smooth out the throttle so maybe that is an option if it really bothers you.

Well I just went for my first ride since I picked up the bike. I just toured around the neighborhood to get use to shifting and braking - well just riding in general LOL. The shifting was much smoother this time and I really enjoyed myself except for my freezing neck and hands after a half an hour. Oh well - at least I got a little ride in!

The other thing you may want to do for a while is to take most/all your turns in second gear, it tends to make those throttle inputs less severe.
