Hello - jon with a damaged blackbird
Hi there. I have recently bought an 05 blackbird with a few problems. It has had a fairly heavy accident, but the frame and forks are fine, as are clocks, and a very nice stainless/carbon fibre akropovik 4-2-1. The engine should be fine too, except that the crank is bent a couple of mm at the flywheel. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hello Jon :-)
Welcome to CBRF ... sorry to hear about the Blackbird, I really don't like the sound of the crank being bent even if only at the flywheel
... that could be hard to fix without removal I would have thought ...maybe someone much more knowledgeable than I can
help ... anyway good luck with it and keep us all informed :-)
Take care
Jules :-)

Hiyu Jon.. welcome to the CBRF
Gee the crank being bent doe's not sound the best mate doe's the bend cause any issues when she runs ? (scraping or rubbing ?? )
You prolly wont be able to repair the bent crank without removal...
If the bend is not causing issues , you may be able to just leave it ???
Whack a pic up of your Bird and a close up of the bent crank if you can ..
All the other cosmetic stuff is easy enough to sort through ..
Post up on the Blackbird boards to ask questions mate as many do not read the new members posts all the time..
good luck
BTW : Need any help around here just PM me :-)
Some fast find links are below mate ....use them with my compliments ..
