Hello i have a Question?
Hello everyone Im Iggy and extremely new to the bike world. Ive always admired it but that was all. Well heres my question one of my friends has a 95 cbr600 F3 chillin on the side of his house with out any plastics or gauge cluster its been sitting for a while and he offered it to me a couple days ago as a trade for a honda tranny i got sitting there . Now the tranny only cost me about 30 maybe 40 bucks so it would be like getting the bike for like 40 bucks the bike has the title and everything and according to him the bike is fine mechanical wise .Now im not a bike person and dont no how much these bikes usually cost or if its worth putting the bike back together or wat not.Thats why im here so wat do you guys think and how much would it be for the complete plastics and the gauge cluster and is it hard to put them on . I mean ive worked on cars for like 5 years now so i no how to turn a wrench .Also if anyone has these parts and would like to sell them plz let me no and wats your price. Thanks for the help everyone

RE: Hello i have a Question?
Hello and welcome to the forums!! :-)
Hmm ..how long is a piece of string?? ..how long is a while?? ..is it rusted up?? ..does it run?? ... plastics can bought off ebay .. if it runs alright and you can get the plastics cheap it could make a sound bike with some time and effort, if its cheap enough you may have nothing to lose :-)

EDIT: check the fork stanchions for rust if itas been laid up outside ..they can rust badly and become pitted ...

RE: Hello i have a Question?
Welcome to the board! You have a friend that rides ... find him and buy him a six pack to go with you and check out the bike. If it will start and idle o.k. then I'd say it is prolly worth your while. If there are any excuses to why it won't crank battery, old gas, carbs not synced, etc then I'd suggest passing up this 'deal'. Good luck.
