Default Greetings from Tennessee

Hi. Ray Freeman from Oak Ridge Tn. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your forum. I have been a motorcycle enthusiast for many many years. I have just picked up a 2005 CBR600rr with 22,000 miles on it. The previous owner had laid it down and it sustained some damage. The frame, forks, engine and rear suspension are not damaged but it is kinda rough. It does run and ride (I test rode it before purchase) but I am currently in the process of putting it back together. I pulled the front end off and replaced the wheel, wheel bearings, brake rotors and pads. The forks are straight so they will hopefully only need a basic rebuild/oil. Will get to that this winter. Loosened all of the engine mounts and re-torqued them in the proper sequence to make sure nothing was in a bind or compressed. The swingarm, linkage, and back wheel all checked out OK so I just greased the linkage/pivot points and reassembled. It has a new chain/sprockets,Mich III's on it.
Previous bikes: 1999 Katana 600, 2000 KX250, 2007 CRF450, 2007 R1, 2011 Raptor700r. I used to ride a lot of motocross when I lived in Montana in my younger years. I picked this CBR up because I would like to get into track riding. Last weekend I attended the Antique and vintage fest at Barbers Motorsports Park in Birmingham Al. That was a blast. If you have never been, I encourage you to go and see the museum. Absolutely amazing. Now I caught the track bug.
Sorry for rambling on. I look forward to being a part of this forum and learning all I can from you folks, and as I gain more knowledge I will surely pass it along.
Thanks Ray
