It's just Hammerite straight to rust smooth spray. silver. I paid £8 per can from HERE. B and Q wanted £16 per can.

Well Chaps, that was probably the easiest renovation ever. 4 plugs, 2 rubber grommets, swingarm paint and a good clean. I have cut the lower faring away where it was pressing on the headers (RHS) This is not visible unless you lie down. Nothing left to do but Ride.

D.D.

Cut out, all that crap is now cleaned off.

Final pic with plastic side covers on. The one in the pic is the one I had to repair.

I've put a few miles on the bike now and no issues have shown up. She has an MOT next week, and I'm confident she will fly thru that. I think a carb balance wouldn't hurt, but apart from that all A OK.
Can anyone recommend a good seat cover, have you used one or know someone who has ?? I want to sort the damage you can see in the pic above. I did buy one of those mesh type covers, but it was way too small, scuppered by the wings on the CBR seat.

A mesh cover fitted to my GSX1400

Hello chaps.
The bike passed the MOT, 2 advisories, a warp on the rear disc, this is unnoticeable under any type of braking, but must've showed on the machine, and a slight misting on the fork legs, I put this down to the copious amount of silicone spray cleaner I used that morning LOL. There has been none since.
I managed to find an even bigger mesh seat cover and got it to fit with a bit (read a lot) of cajoling. I recommend these things as they keep you cool in the heat and dry in the rain.
I did a good ride out on Friday, 80 miles including Bewdley, Clee hill and Bridgnorth. (for anyone local)

<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->Transitioning to a CBR platform often requires a fundamental shift in how one manages bike security and logistics during long-distance trips. Reliability on the road is as much about mechanical prep as it is about planning safe transition points in high-traffic urban hubs. For those navigating complex city centers, exploring efficient solutions for parking at Montparnasse ensures the motorcycle remains secure while continuing the journey via professional transport.

What specific security measures are being prioritized for this new acquisition when storing it in public metropolitan areas?
