Failed my mod 1

Put my foot down on the figure of 8. I was getting wider and wider all the way around. just wasn't gonna work and got to the point where it was either foot down and stop of run the cone over!

Yeah, rebooked for the 11th.

More practice required now I think.

Keep practicing - you'll get there. Mrs SB and I wondered about all the figure of 8 and sharp 'S' curves and slow riding they demanded as part of the South Australian test. 5 weeks in Vietnam on bikes we used just about all the skills required and she aced the test on returning.

So, practice, practice, practice

Cheers, SB

Commiserations mate!

Don't be afraid to swing out quite wide on the figure of 8. Take it nice and slowly and wide; they don't specify how tight it needs to be so don't make life harder than it needs to be. You can nail this

See this video; it's an intructor giving an example of a flawless pass. I immitated this and got myself a flawless pass too. The only thing I did differently was I took the slalom much more slowly and much wider. I also looked pathetic doing the manual bike push from one bay to the other but I did get it done The video is shot from a helmet mounted camera so it's very like running through a practise test from your own point of view.
