Gearing Questions ?
When i bought my bike from the local dealership i noticed the sprocket looked a little different i asked the sales person why and he told me that it was because the previous owner had changed the gearing to -2 +1 does that mean he went down two teeth in the back sprocket, and one up in the front sprocket or vice versa. And what are the effects of -2+1 gearing Vs stock gearing also what is a 520 conversion

RE: Gearing Questions ?
520 is a reference to the weight/size of the chain. Stock is 525 or 530 on liter bikes. A 520 is a chain made slightly thinner and weighs less. This also means that it wears out faster as well. The -2 +1 gearing you have is giving you a lot more torque.... enough that you will really think something is wrong with your bike if you go back to stock.
