Default Gearing Questions for an F4i

I'm buying new chain and sprockets for my 02 CBR600F4i, i'm considering putting it on the track, and was told that i would get better low end torque by changing the number of teeth on either sprocket, do any of you racing enthusiest here have any recomendations for a rookie!! I appreciat any and all help.

can't really recommend anything there because your gearing should match the track. for instance....in a high speed track, you wouldn't want gearing where you'd have to be constantly shifting...or the opposite for a tighter track where you'd be stuck in too high of a gear.

Thats true, but in general at the track you aren't always running top gear high speed ****, so raising your gear ratio would be the best option. By how much, well thats the hard part . Standards are -1/+0 -1/+1, -1/+2

Thanks for the help fellas, Tahoe the track I would be riding is considered a "tight" track according to a fello rider that rides the same track. Now the same gentleman recommended that i stay with the stock gearing on the front because he says going smaller cause more wear on the chian due to the smaller diameter for the chain to travel, due either of you have any input on this.

yea you get better wear by going up in the rear vs. going down in the frong. -1 in the front equates to about +3 in the rear (it's just slightly less than +3). i've done both...and it doesn't wear it out that fast...i still got like 10K out of the DID chain.

i know it's not feasible for us to have like 3 sets of sprockets and chains to swap out depending on the track...so just get whatever you're comfy with...i would do -1 or +2 or 3 in the rear and just ride with that for now.

i had -1 at a tight track and while shifting was good for some parts of it, where it wasn't as tight..really sucked!
