ok so i have a 07 1kRR and i was thinking about gettin a bigger rear sprocket for some low end...but i really dont wanna lose alot of top end ...?!? so what do you guys recommend for this situation? and also i was curious, what would happen if i streched her out 4 inch , then droped it ? any comments would be greatly appreicated

 

Gearing just go -1 tooth in the front, will cost ya about 30 bucks instead of 80 for a rear. Thats the first mod i have done on EVERY bike i ever owned.

If you stretch it and lower it, the front end will not pick up as easy. You will also lose a lot of your turn in and cornering ability.

 

ahhhhhhh i c .. now thats gonna do what thou? -1 in the front ? is that the same as adding 2 in the rear? and if i strech it how long does the chain have to be? or do i just link one together? thanks for the response!

 

whatare you looking for? Stunting, drag racing, or just a little more bottom end?

 

Going -1 in the front is = to going up 2.5 in the rear. Its gonna give you quicker acceleration, but wont cost you all of your top end, i think it takes about 10-15mph off the top. As far as the stretch you will need a longer chain for sure. If you just do -1 front tooth the chain you have on will be just fine.
