Default First bike! got some questions...

I just bought an 87 honda hurricane that I won on ebay. Im getting it next tuesday. Its got almost 16k miles on it, new brakes, tires, and some other stuff, and runs and drives great (hopefully). I payed $1930 for it. Anyways Im siked about getting it, I cant wait! Ive been riding dirtbikes for a few years (my biggest a ttr-230), and mopeds before that, and Im 17 now and figure its time for me to get a street bike, although my rents are completely against it! I've been dying to get a bike and finally I could afford this one. I know its an old bike but apparently from what Ive read, theyre good bikes that last forever, and a good first bike.
Anyways, I wanted to ask you guys what type of cloathing to get. I want to be protected in case I fall/crash. Something protective I can wear at least until I get used to riding, since this is a big step up for me. Is there a certain brand I should get? I have no idea about this so any help is appreciated. Ill let you know when I get my bike!
Heres a pic of it that i just posted (i dont know how to include it in the thread)

Welcome. I also had an '89. Good bike. It won't let you down. Wear your gear! You can try www.cyclegear.com or exoticsportbike.com or check the main page of the site for our sponsor sites that will give you good deals. Be safe and start easy on the throttle.

Always wear you jacket and gloves and MOST Important wear a good pair of boots wether it be say a pair of steel cap works boots. I live in Central Queensland Australia it gets hot up here but I always ask my self the question off could I grow back a foot ??? By the way I am 49 years old and have just bought my CBR 1000 F ( 92 Model ) and I hadnt ridden bike for nearly 25 years. Last week I jumped on my girl and rode it home back up the east coast of Aus approx 580 Ks and had the time of my life, so just be carefully, appreciate and respect the bike and it will look after you.

What is a good jacket (brand name, type) that I can get for cheap, like off of ebay or something. I also need to get a helmet, and what type of gloves? I have some timberland pros, no steel toe.

I bought a RJAYS jacket off E Bay it cost $ 142.50 for a size 50 you dont want ot skimp on a jacket as it could be the only thing that saves you lossing your skin !!!!I was over the moon with that also the gloves are RJAYS too all leather as for your feet in Queensland Aus we are mostly given work issue steel cap boots with employment ( Depending on what profession ) so they double for my riding boots I think so long as they civer your ankles and give support, thats what I like anyway, with your helmet I would sugest going into a store and try on a range of helmets and dont be scared about the price as you cant grow a head back on your shoulders I picked up a resonable one when I was sold the bike it cost $ 350 Aust
