Default new bike few questions

First of all, i would like to thank you guys for the replys i got from my first post! Second of all due to the advice i got there, i will be picking up my (new to me) 02 cbr 600 f4i. Here is the question i am 5'7 and can touch the ground with the front ***** of my feet. If i lower the bike 1-3 inches will there be any negative effects? i am wanting to lower the bike so i can handle it on unlevel ground. any response will be great.
Thanks again

i have a fairly short friend. He wanted to lower it as well, but after owning it for a while, and still riding it without lowering it, he found out he didn't need to. You don't need to lower the bike. when you stop, just rest on your left foot and leave your right on the rear break. you can be on a steep incline and still be fine with this stance. I've seen him do it. Right next to me at a stop light.

Depending how low you go 3 should be the max....I think if you can reach the ground with the ***** of your feet just go with 1 inch.... My girlfriends RR is lowered 3 inch in the back with a dog bone ( i think thats what its call) and lowered 2-3 in the front and the overall turning is Alittle bit more stiff on slow turns, but your biggest problem you look at is your feet in leaning turns your toe may catch which will scare you and possible throw you off so i suggest the lowest you go is 1 to 2 inches

I wouldn't do it at all. My friend rides fine and he can barely touch the ground. It is a waste of time and money, but if u have a lot of time and money...hell why not.

it's a bad idea unless you setup the suspention to alter the bike becuase you are lowering the center of gravity on a bike that is adjusted to be at that hight.

I'm 5'7' and when I first got my f4i I too wanted to lower it. But like the other posts say, you get used to it. I would never lower it now.

do NOT lower the bike...you'll get used to just handling the bike on the ***** of your feet. you'll thank us later for not lowering it when you get faster and start taking up trackdays and canyon dancing.
