From the dark side
New to the forum and new to the CBR world. My name is Eric, I have about 20 years riding experience. Just bought my first sport bike, 2000 CBR 600. I have always owned Harleys but has became a "rich mans" sport, therefore all the Harleys are gone and have just the above listed bike.
I look forward to learning the ins and outs of these incredible machines. Ready for nice weather for sure. In the very little riding of the CBR, it's like learning to ride all over again. The power is totally different and the handling.... man is there a ton to learn in that department.
Looks like a ton of reading to be had here, here goes nothing.

Well the whole Harley thing I will always have a passion for, but the cost for parts and repairs is insane. I had a couple of more recent Harleys have some major engine problems just out of warranty, couple buddies and aquaintences had the same issue. Well the cost was upwards of 5K, with 4 kids that expense is no longer affordable.
My wife and I just want to ride, yes, all bikes can cost $$$$ in repairs. Initial buy price on a H.D. is way to high.
As my first rocket I ended up with a 2000 CBR 600 F4, 7500 miles on her and all service records, Never laid down, tires are thin but they are the originals, the only other thing was my mistake getting it out of the previous owners garage, I bumped the tail fairing on a post backing it out of the tight quarters. Needless to say I will be doing some glass work and busting out the paint gun, but at $2000 out the door for a nice nice bike I can't complain.
My wife never had ridden before, we found her a 2006 Ninja 250 with 943 miles on it, cash price $1200.
Thanks jrobinson. Waving from Washington.
Welcome aboard Eric!
Congrats on getting your new-to-you F4! We've added a few F4 members recently, which is great! Always nice to know that the F4 section will keep going. ;-) I have a 2000 F4 as well.
Yeah, riding a sport bike is a whole other thing compared to a cruiser. You'll get used to it pretty quick though. We've got some great reads here on the forum & links to articles elsewhere.
When you get a chance, come on over to the F4 section & post a pic for us.
Good to have you w/ us.

Thanks gotcbr, I will head over to the F4 forum shortly. How do you post photos here? Hotlink from Flickr?? This will be a fun ride, not just the bike but all the info here.
Thanks adiopunki7, look forward to all the info and stories the site has to offer.
