So late last year a deal popped up on CL around me and I couldn't pass it up for $300 (and she has a title)

I've been spending more time on other projects than my CBR and this is one of them.

I see no 'Dark Side" Kungfutree, just experience with a different make. I not only have two CBR1000Fs, but whole stable of other makes as well.

It's all in the name of fun and preserving the old machinery and you seem to be doing a good job on that old Gixxer.

Those fairings are only mocked up on the bike. I have about another $900 left in parts to finish her how I want. Most of that is going into wheels and a front end swap to accept the new front wheel. Has 18' rims, going over to 17' so I can put newer rubber on it. Tank is pretty bad inside but I already bought my Por 15 kit. She runs, which is the good part.

The other project eating my time and money is my 03 XR400 which has a blown motor. That is almost done, just need a gasket kit and some new swingarm bearings. That was my first street bike and it's a load of fun if you ever get the chance to take a dual sport out, they are light as a feather compared to even the nimblest of crotch rockets.

Also gotta say the power is simply amazing. In the short test drive I did after I got it back to it's current resting place (on near bald tires), the bike really impressed me for sitting as long as it had and the pick up it had even from a low second roll on. Can't wait to get it done but right now, she is sitting in someone's barn til I get an opening in my garage.
