Default CBR 1000 rr 05 or 06

What's up everyone ?
I just got my 05 zx10 r totaled this last week and I decided that I'm gonna get a cbr 1000, but the only thing I don't know if I get a 05 or 06.
I read some reviews on the 05 an 06 and they were saying that the 05 had a better suspension for street riding and the power delivery is smoother and the 06 suspension is very stiff and the gas on and off throttle is abrupt. I weight 215 lbs and ride most of the time in some local canyons. Can someone help me with my 05, 06 dilemma ?

Welcome to the board! I ride an '04 1kRR and love it. Haven't tried the '06 but the magazines seem to drool over the improvements. Not much help, eh? Either way you'll have a fantastic bike so no worries.

The only other thing I have heard for the 05 over the 06 is that the 05 has a longer wheelbase (or maybe just a longer swingarm) making it easier to keep the front wheel on the ground. Other than that I would have to listen to what the magazines say.

Welcome, and IMO you can't go wrong with either year; I struggled when I first bought my 06; the dealer had an 05 to...and honestly i like the fairing better on the 05; for me it came done to the improvements that came on the 06; the biggest being the weight reduction. Honda took a great platform and refined it, and with the deals there were (maybe still are making) the 06 just made more sense. A word of caution though, if you are a rider that likes to heavily mod their bike, the parts for the 05 are simply more readily avaiable; believe it or not even though the bikes look pretty similar, the majority of the parts for an 05 will not work on the 06, and you can end up like me having to play the waiting game, and sometimes have to choose a different mod than I had planned on.
