avg bike life
It really depends on how you treat it. You can easily go over the 100k miles and have something to play with. IF you look through some of the older bikes sections, you'll see that we have bikes 20 years old and still going strong.

I bought an old Yamaha XJ600 from a courier and it had done over 150,000 miles, I blew the engine up after 10,000 and re built it replacing the cam chain and tensioner and its still running today!.
My mate had a 96 GSX and it had a hole in the petrol tank what was patched with anything handy, anyway it caught on fire!, he put new clocks tyres and electrics, tank etc back on it and turned it into a street fighter.
You can smash the ever living poop out of bikes and blow up the engines but its ok cos you can just fix it
if the frames boned buy a good 2nd hand one.
If you want a bike and minimal maintenance go for a big Honda and look for something with under 20,000 regularly serviced miles.

My 550 Nighthawk is 23 years old and has almost 77,000 miles on it.Still riding it on a regular basis. Had to replace the exhaust (rode in the rain a lot!), the ignition lock, and a head gasket. Have been religious about maintainence
