Well I'm a newbie here and need some advise. Just sold my VFR400 and am in the process of getting a 04/05 CBR600RR and would like to ask is there are any tips on what to look for when buying a second hand unit? Are there any tests I can do or other things that might help me in my buying.

I'm currently working in the philippines and the prices here are usally 3 thousand dollars more than the states, so I dont want to get it wrong! Please help!

Check, as best you can, behind the fairings at the frame... new paint can be something that tends to lean to having been laid down, but not always. See if they have any kind of maintenance information on it, that kind of thing. That's the best I've got at the moment, and good luck!
