Default '01 F4i owner in northeastern PA

Long time reader, first time poster here. My ride is a silver 2001 F4i that I picked up in California in spring 2009, and I first wanted to thank everyone at this site for all the helpful posts and amazing how-to's. You guys are awesome!!

Last September I literally screwed my engine (a screw mischievously found its way into my 1st cylinder intake ) and I just got around to buying and installing a used engine from a forum member last week.

busted 1st cylinder w/ screw head:

I suspended the bike and dropped it into place on the new one:

Luckily I had no suprises wiring up a 49-state model engine to my CA harness (I didn't re-install the carbon canister, and my O2 sensor has the 10ohm resistor mod after throwing a code a while back). Boy what a relief when it started and revv'ed fine!

I just wanted to introduce myself so I can hopefully contribute back to the group that has taught me everything about fixing my bike -- thank you!

Welcome aboard! Glad to have you w/ us. Yep, pay it forward. ;-)

Great that your 'new' engine dropped right in. Murphy's Law often interrupts what should otherwise be a smooth install. Glad yours went well.

BTW, I've not seen one of those old Official Pace Car Mustangs in a l-o-n-g time!

Thanks, I'm happy to contribute back to the forum now that I've learned a thing or two about wrenching on here .

and the car is a '79 mustang shell. My uncle has had it in "storage" like this for the past two years:

<a href="http://s1077.photobucket.com/albums/w475/NEPAF4i/?action=view&amp;current=photo.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1077.photobucket.com/albums/w475/NEPAF4i/photo.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Not sure what he's doing with it, but from the looks of it, sure looks like Murphy's law probably got the better of him too!

Welcome.

The forum really does have excellent how to's that are extremely helpful. Happy to hear the engine started and revved up with no issues.

Not sure about the Mustang though (Look at my username...)
