Default Babies and bikes

Just wanted to get some opinions, thoughts about having kids and riding bikes. I'll be 33 next week. My husband and I will be married 2 years in May but we've been together since '02. He got me into riding and we bought bikes instead of a honeymoon. I would like to have kids someday, sooner than later, but besides money, riding is holding us back. We don't have a lot of family nearby and most of our friends ride so it's not like we would be able to drop them off with someone so we can ride. I would never dream of asking my husband not to ride just because we had kids like I've seen happen in other relationships, but then again I want to be able to ride too. I'm afraid we may grow apart because he would be riding while I was taking care of the kid. It would be bad enough having to work opposite shifts to avoid child care cost. I mean we almost always ride together if we're both available and I cherish those times. We always talk about how we'll be the cool parents with bikes and he rides mountain bikes and BMX too so we'll definitely encourage that as well. But getting through the baby years might be tough. Obviously having kids will change our lives but I don't want it to be another chapter. I mean we are so carefree right now. Any advice on how to make this work?

Default babies and bikes

Bunnie- Both of my kids started riding in the womb. It is definetely an adjustment not being able to go riding whenever you want, but my kids are the greatest gift I have ever been given. So i guess it is a matter of how bad you want them. A great babysitter on Saturday morning so you guys can ride together is a good plan, or flying in family for the weekend once a month or so? Both of my kids are now old enough to ride on the back with me and they LOVE it!! It is a special experience and a love of riding that we share together. I am the cool mom that drops her kids off on her sportbike!! Hope it helps.
