The original. Green Fields of France, played by Eric Bogle (ex- Scottish) but lives in the Adelaide Hills (or used to). This was played at a winery just up the road from here.
The Green Fields of France - Eric Bogle - YouTube
The Fureys with Davey Arthur did a brilliant version as well which I probably favour.
The best anti-war song ever written and the story behind it is beautiful
Cheers, SB

Technicality for technicalities sake. It's not all about speed, you gotta have the feeling for the music as well.
This is much better and better to listen to. Zappa JNR and Steve Vai, Franks understudy, though both geniuses in their own right.
Though every musician on the stage is at the top of their game, there are those that would hack off a limb to play with these guys!
In general, I don't like Steve Vai, he tends toward technical excess, but here, playing an old FZ number he's kept under control by Dweezil and is all the better for it.
Persevere through the Jazz oriented sections (they're short), you'll love it in the end
PS sory if I've posted this before
