Yep it's hot but a great job. My hat still goes off to some of the others in careers helping others though. Many don't get recognition for what they do. I get to go home & forget about work but some don't. Some especially now don't have work. Hang in there. It's hard now but it will turn around. Following every boom there is a bust followed by another boom.

Hats off to all those in service to others in need, indeed. I have the good fortune of doing a job I have enjoyed for 36 years. I'm an aircraft mechanic. In the states we call ourselves A&P's, that's airframe and powerplant techs. I have been on corporate jets for most of my career. Pampered planes and people. Once in a great while I travel with the aircraft. I have been to China twice. There are always new things to learn, new technology, computers run everything. We have to be jacks-of -all-trades.
It's been great to hear everyones story, keep it up.

It's good to be a jack of all trades. It always gives you the edge in a tight spot. Lots of experiences to draw from. Often not exceptionally brilliant at one thing but handy to have around. Even the military need those with a little ingenuity. That's how we advance with our technology.
Never stop learning. That way your brain won't turn to mush. Oops. Too late. Mine already is.

If nature and evolution teach us anything it's that , specialisation is evolutionary suicide , the 'jack of all trades' can find a way to solve a problem and survive , while the 'specialist', out of his 'niche' is FU(KED and will die .

So true, hawk.....
And it's funny because some people are content with just knowing how to do one thing. I don't understand it. I love to learn new things, but some just don't.
