thank you for the compliments but I was just doing my job ... my weakness is that I tend to care a bit too much and find it hard to separate work from life, the memories from the hospice will be with me forever and it made all the difference when relatives just hugged you and thanked you for the difference you made to their loved ones ... at the end of the day it drained me emotionally but I did it for as long as I could

I wouldn't say that's a weakness as much as....well... being normal.
Some amount of empathy, I'd say, is a good thing.
Your job is a big part of your life, and I can completely understand not wanting to do it forever.
I couldn't. I wouldn't want to.

My figurative hat is well and truly off to the nurses, firefighters, and cops (any ambos?) amongst you! You're legends.

Done lots of different stuff!

These days I'm the groundsman / fix everything man at a primary school. My daughter is in grade 6 and my son just left for high school at the start of this year (I can see the high school from my workshop). My wife got a really good job based there too about a year after I started there, so for a while we were all in the same place. It's a really weird job. Really flexible hours and I pretty much do whatever I feel like each day. If it's a nice day I work outside, if it's crap I fix stuff inside. There's some carpentry, welding, plumbing, painting, mechanics, gardening etc. The downside is the money's ordinary, but I'm old and wise enough to have worked out that money's not the most important thing.

Aren't we a diverse bunch? Good taste in bikes!

No snobbery here.
It's not what you do, it's who you are - It's the diversity of earning a crust that's incredible
We're all knights of the CBRound Table.......................
Who ever wins the Lotto has to send airtickets for the others so we can have a good yack in person.................and a few brews (or in my case a Captain Morgan and coke large one)
Cheers !

What is work?
I ride my CBR 929 RR, play on my Jet Skis, do a little wakeboarding, skydive a few times a week, ride my CR250, spend ski weekends at the condo, snowboard every day in the winter, travel all over and drive my Hummer H2. Having a huge trust fund is great!!!

OK OK... Dont hate me, Im just kidding!
I really work my ars off with 2 jobs. During the weekdays I drive a concrete truck and evenings and weekends I own a home business doing Jet Ski repair and custom painting. Lots of the time I work something like 70 to 90 hours a week. It pays the bills and I really do all the things listed above. Just have to schedule time to play! All work makes for a boring person.
