Not even 1 week old!
yes as you may have guest I had a small crash yesterday, so now I have to repair it, light damage to the left side. screen damage and and a few small parts needed, so my question is, what do i do next, a full nut and bolt restoration and return to stock or do i nut and bolt restoration and custom spray job and mod it a little. any input would be great. just now i hurt all over but nothing broken so just bruising. I'll live, just want to make the bike live again in the best condition possible!

So firstly, slow down and take a deep breath and think what you would like to do with your bike. If the damage is not too serious, repair what needs repairing and get out there and ride. Always got to get back on the horse!

If you want to do a full restoration, be aware that it will cost twice as much and take four times as long as you plan - so you might be off the bike for a while.
If you do go down this path, search and buy the bits from other forum members or online via ebay etc, and store them until you have all you need. Keep riding your bike whilst doing this and then attack it when all the parts are at hand during the winter.
That's my 2c and what I'd do.
Cheers, SB
Well the parts im after are not too bad to get hold of, have found a breakers yard not too far from where i live, and would you believe it he has 6 CBR1000f for parts, 4 full fairing kits. so my luck maybe in! as for me, I might not have broke a bone, but the muscle damage is painful but i have good pain killers from the hospital. I think i will photo the whole process from start to finish, and yer, I know it will cost more than i think and time, and i will take that on board.
Yeah it can get expensive restoring a bike but at least you got lucky with the 6 other bikes always makes it easier. When I high sided my bike Corning cost me alot of money to get bike put back together. This was awhile ago and since then I don't let shops touch my bike I'm all about (doing it yourself) takes longer but at least you know you did it right and it's way cheaper. Glad your ok though man
Glad you're ok. Do yourself a favor & check the wheel alignment. It'll give you an indication of any frame damage. If there is then it's easy to have if straightened while she's pupped down. It's a real pain to fix her up really nice only to find that you corner better one way that the other.
It's looking straight. I had a straight edge on it to check if I had bent the frame. So far it looked good. But i will be doing a better measuring of the frame and wheel alignment when she's home. Just now the bike is at a friends awaiting me to recover back home.
So far, so good, only the fairing are damaged, and the frame protector, so its the parts im looking for and i have all the time in the world. striped the left fairing off last night, and there is signs for the bike being damaged in the past, but nothing i cant fix. so im looking forward to this as a project to do over the winter, hope that is long enough.
Amazing what you can do over the winter. Took me a long time to fix mine but I did it on the cheap. Learned a lot by the things I did wrong. Best of luck & enjoy your time with a great lady.
