Cool New Gear

I bagged myself a pair of Hein Gericke pants from e-bay the other day and took them for a test ride the other evening.

The pants were practically new and fit perfectly , but I'm used to my favourite Hein Gericke pants which are more of a touring type , with only the 'Hyprotec' system fitted and just the short zip at the back (hence the quest for different pants).

The 'new' ones have hard armor in the knees , velcro pads for knee sliders and are more a 'race type' of trouser , less comfortable , but a better fit and surprisingly once I'd covered a few miles I forgot I was wearing them , though initially they felt very restrictive !

The main problem I have with them is that the full length zip is shorter than the zip on my jacket so I have to figure something out there . I love the jacket (also Hein Gericke), it has air perforations and zip vents+ outside pockets and wanted trousers that would zip to the full length zip on the jacket (just in case I get to do a track day ).

Sods Law , they are exactly what I wanted but wont fit the jacket
As you may have noted , I quite like the old Heine Gericke gear , top quality stuff but not top price!

The more perceptive of you may have noted I've been drinkin'

So I apologise for my drunken ramblings , but we are after all in the Saloon

Change the zip and have another drink..................
Check that - get someone else to change the zip, then you have more time for drinking
