Need to do a clutch....how difficult?
So my pristine 1990 CBR1000F with 11k miles on it has a clutch that slips right near the power band (7k up). It's not EVERY time, but it does happen. So I ordered the complete Barnett kit...all the plates, springs, and gasket. My question is, how difficult is this to replace? My local shop (who has been very decent with me and gets GREAT Google reviews) wants about $200 to do the job. I'm going on a 2k mile trip next month on her, and I'm tempted to just let them do the job and know it's done right. What do you guys think? I just put new tires on (Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT's) and had the fork seals replaced. Just want this thing ready to go. I'd hate to have that clutch go for good on my trip. (BTW, it's been slipping like this since I bought it....that was 4,500 miles ago....if you ride it like a sane person, it doesn't slip....right now).
Comments and thoughts most welcome....thanks guys,
Warner
PS - Anyone in the Chicago area that thinks this is cake and wants to help me would be greatly appreciated.

Clutch job for a '90 Cane
just curious if the clutch job is similar on a '90 as it was for the 93-96? Did you already get it done Warner?

Rocking vid!
Yep, all done. Took 3 hours....really taking my time. More than half of that time was spent just cleaning the gasket off the case and cover.
