Default I am a...cheater...

Folks,

...i don't know how to explain this, other than with the cold hard...truth.

2 days ago, i've picked up my Concours 14 from a dealership. I couldn't resist. It's an '08 with 3600 miles and i got it for under 7k. I couldn't help myself, it had to be done, she was smiling at me. I'm just a man, just a rider, what else was i supposed to do? Turn my back and walk away? The mind is strong, but the flesh is willing.
I'm sorry. No i don't expect you to forgive me...

Ok, seriously though, I picked her up, rode about 50 miles so far (work got in the way) and find myself with the dilemma that one of the 2 will have to go come spring. The CBR or the Conny. 1990, 60k miles vs. 2008, 3600 miles.
I'm not sure if nostalgia is hitting me, whether it should be really much more of a no brainer...it should be an easy decision, shouldn't it?!

F.

Pics coming in the next days, before both go into winter storage.

Here's a fair write up
http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/...4-ar64385.html

Here's two shots of my friend Quintin's bike.
It's probably the best of the "big lumps"
but it doesn't grab me like the 1000F did..................
At the price there's no question I'd have done the same..................

BLOODY HERETIC !!

Keep the old lady too, go on, you know you want to.............

FargAT, when you get home from work tomorrow, your clothes will be scattered on the front lawn. I suggest you gather them up, and be on your way.

You know I'm just kidding. Congratulations on a cool bike, man. (and a good deal!)
Whatever you decide, it is what it is... If you're happy with a silly Kawasaki, we'll understand...

Check this thread out. It sounds like there may be a lot of us "in the closet" wanting some of the features you're getting. https://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-1000f-hurricane-38/ok-they-have-their-vfr-102058/

No doubt about it. The 1000F has been way ahead of its time, set the standards for many bikes to come. The Conny has a few things under the hood that makes it worth its while. Not to mention the power and torque.
It would be great to see the 1000F have a come back, with adjustments made. The Concours does have a lot of features to make life a ton easier.
Powerplant, shaft drive, movable windshield, etc. --- the 1000F is definitely the more pure bike, though. Combine the both and...

It was a no brainer to buy the bike at that low of a price,...i got damn lucky there. Keeping both bikes...i wish...

Man.....this is going to be tough...

If you feel the need to keep the nackersacky then at least take a hacksaw to the exhaust can.
Only kidding, at that price you would be mad to walk away, but seriously, that end can needs to go

Yep. Many of us here have more than one bike. You won't get a ton of money for the old girl, anyway...

Yes, because that is what cheating is all about! The variety.
