I actually find this VW-Audi drama quite amusing

A quick Google search has revealed that "sex with a beaver" is a much more popular search (20 000 000 results) than "sex with a muskrat" (16 000 results). You clearly need to get a new hobby Woof.
My personal hobby:
"Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Pretty young school girls tied up with string"
What's the next line Woof?

I see VW are going to replace 11 million diesel engines under recall in the US no mention of any other countries.
I wouldn`t mind getting hold of a v10 out of a Tourag to repower my Nissan Patrol.
Maybe some savvy person will start a business exporting the recalled engines to the rest of the world.

If it were me with one of them Vulgar-Dubya's in the garage I'd be taking the POS back to the dealer for a 100% refund on the basis of fraud and not getting what I paid for.
In all honesty, I sincerely hope VW choke on this and go belly up. It may smarten a few other manufacturers up a bit too eh.
(BTW, no offence to VW owners intended, I get ticked off with shysters)

I read a delightful comment in the newspaper a couple of days ago.
The very embarrassed CEO of VW/Audi in NZ was reassuring all owners that they have no cause for alarm and that they will be kept informed as to developments.
The bottom line is that there is no testing regime in NZ for NO pollution, so the cars simply can't fail the test, because there isn't one.
No doubt some owners will however, try and jump on the class action bandwagon. I sincerely hope they fail.

You hope who fails? VW? Or the people jumping on the class action?
There's already a wiki for this fiasco. The best part is that the wiki says VW is responsible for between 12-106 deaths world wide because of the extra pollution... Talk about not leaving any externality unchecked...
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volk...ns_vviolations
I don't understand why engines are being recalled, and not ECUs? If that's the case, how many deaths will the EPA be responsible for with the extra pollution associated with that?
Couldn't every power commander out there be considered a "defeat device"?
