alternator removal
Hi all,
Quick question here, I want to remove the alternator in order to take a look at the tensioner of it, as it rattles a lot.
but, i'm stock at removing the alternator
. I (think) I know how it should be done, but can't seem to get there. I have removed the alternator cover, and the cap below the starter motor to reveal the end nut of the alternator shaft. There is not a lot of space to get an spanner around the nut, and certainly not to turn it. I can turn it a little, but all it seems to do is turn the whole shaft. I have tried to hold the other end with an socket ( there is a nut revealed when you remove the alternator cover ) but it doesn't want to come loose. is there something i'm doing wrong perhaps ?
