swinging arm rebuild.
THE MORE YOU REMOVE THE EASIER THIS JOB IS
1. LOOSEN ALL THE NUTS AND BOLTS (soak them in penetrating oil for a while before you start)
2. REMOVE THE SLILENCERS
3.REMOVE THE HUGGER/CHAIN GAURD
4.UNDO AND REMOVE THE SUSPENSION LINKAGE (take photos and notes of what goes where)
5.UNDO AND REMOVE THE MONO-SHOCK
6. REMOVE THE SWINGING ARM PIVOT BOLT (mine was a bit of a pig to get out, use more penetrating oil and keep turning everything round, put the nut back on and give it a good whack with a hammer the nut will save any thread damage.
7.TAKE THE SWINGER OUT AND GIVE IT A GOOD CLEAN.
now your ready to remove the dust seals and bearings.
remove the dust seal wit a flat screwdiver, using circlip pliers remove the circlip, next the double bearing, i use a blind bearing extractor but they can be drifted out (but be careful not to damage the inside of the swinging arm),
take out the spacer (lay everything out as you remove it and you will know how it all goes back in).
turn the arm over and remove the other dust seal, the needle bearing this side can be a pain to get out with a blind bearing extractor it is much easier, if you do drift it out use a soft drift that wont mark the inside of the arm.
CLEAN THE INSIDE OF THE SWINGER UP AND DRESS ANY MARKS UP WITH EMEREY CLOTH.
rebuilding is the reverse of dismantiling, just use loads of monobylenum grease you cant use to much, pack all the bearings and the spacers, the 2 bearings can be tapped in with the correct size socket (one that fits the outer race of the bearing but fits inside the bearing seat) replace the dust seal, when putting the needle bearing in use a draw bar (just a length of threaded bar with washers a socket and a nut each end) this will ensure the needle bearing goes in straight. drop the greased up spacer in and replace the dust seal.
JOB DONE
you can buy a swinging arm bearing kit weymoto or raw power motorcycles (theyre on ebay)
i have put the pics on in order, hope this helps someone out
