I'm sure that will have a real bearing on the longevity of those NSK's

Default Bearing

I'm confused, the bearing that came out of my front rim is a NSK 6204DU with the dimensions of inner diam 20mm outer dia 47mm width 14mm, I ordered some new ones and they are 42mm outer dia and are to small.
Help me Alan

What year is your CBR1000F Alan? And does it have standard wheels? I.e some people who own/owned the Mark 1 (87/88) may have fitted later mark 2 wheels. Just a thought.

Just looked at your details, it's an '87. I'll search for some info.

Just found this

CBR1000 FH
87-99
6004 2RS Front
6004 2RS Front
6204 2RS Rear
6304 2RS Rear

CBR1000 FJ
87-99
6004 2RS Front
6004 2RS Front
6204 2RS Rear
6304 2RS Rear

CBR1000 FK-FX
87-99
6004 2RS Front
6004 2RS Front
6304 2RS Rear
6304 2RS Rear

So, they should be the same for all years. Which means you were supplied the wrong bearings! The 6204 is a rear bearing? I'm getting mighty confused here Alan

Cheers, SB

Default Bearings

Hi, thanks for the reply, yes my CBR is an 88 the rear was swapped for the 90? on it was done before I bought it, I decided to do the front over the winter, got the rim then sent both for powder coating.
The bearings I got are far to small for the hole they go into, approx 5mm to small if that makes sense.
Gonna try to post the wheels up on this post.
So some one can confirm I haven't made a booboo by buying the wrong rim.
Thanks Alan.

Here's an image I borrowed from an online sale.

Compare it with your rim Alan, it looks as if (to me anyway) the webbing on the spoke rim side is larger on your front rim, and the centre section is different as well.

You may have the wrong rim.

Not what you wanted to hear.

What are the numbers on the rim? I have an 87 at home and can look at that this evening.

Cheers, SB

Hi thanks for the reply, seems wires are getting crossed here lol, I am in the process of converting the front to the later rim as in this post https://cbrforum.com/forum/how-tos-8...7-88-a-121344/
The rear had already been done, the front I have is to match the rear, sorry if this has confused any one.

The guy at one of the local bike shops took them through to Bradford, usually a 1 week turn around, had the sprocket carrier done the same colour but waiting for that to return. I live in York.
Apology for taking this slightly off topic
