You know, I've always had issues with leaving my jacket or helmet on my bike... locked up or no. they're personal items, that should be with me at all times, never left unattended...

I like it... looks like a nice little project soon.

One flaw... whatever was used to cut the cable to size could be used to cut the merchandise off! LOL

This also seems like a good way to keep people from sitting on your bike while you're away.

i just use the two helmet locks under the rear seat and put my jacket in my tail bag and then lock it with tsa locks i also try to park where i can still see my bike if possible and hope nobody cuts the straps or the tail bag. but that's what insurance is for.

Couldn't you just make the cable where you could just loop it through the actual helmet and out the visor and then back through the cable then lock the cable to the bike. I know someone could still cut the cable if there really wanted your stuff but it would make it alot harder than just cutting the fabric straps.

Then you have to worry about scratching your visor with that cable.

The seat does come off with a KEY!

vinyl coating, it does wonders

Depending on how much stuff you keep under your seat, you could use a cable like I use to secure my bike and/or trailer. Its about a 1/2 thick cable, vinyl coated with lock mated to it made by Reese I think. I could easily use it to secure my helmet and jacket and not worry about it scratching my shield. And it would take a ape with a large set of cutters to cut it.

Nope, it's called plastic coated cable. If you're worried about where it's cut then rubber coat that too.
