Just made the 2 diode harnesses and installed them along with a LED blinker. Works great... Thanks again for starting this thread and the instructions.

Just did this mod and it work PERFECTLY. Much appreciate the time and effort for posting.

I used universal lights that already had running lights (3 wire), but the running lights are blue and on the back to shine onto bike. I just tied the running light and signal light wire coming from the new blinkers (essentially turning them into a 2 wire system) and followed the instruction exactly as listed. Now my front signals are running lights (in my case both the front flasher - amber and blue lights on back). THANKS!!!!!!

Appreciate the excellent How-To, previous owner had my front turn signals wired so the lights on the dash are always on.

Will be heading to Radio-Shack to get some diodes and fixing them thanks to this great write up.

--- worked like a charm, dash lights now off.

Sounds like something isn't made correctly. Did you add the LED flasher unit? That will slow down the blinking rate.

So the running light shuts off once the blinker is turned on right? And then turns back on once blinker is cancelled. So my question is, why do you need 4 diodes? Wouldn't putting a diode just on the turn signal wire to restrict back flow of electricity to gauges work? Then you would only need two diodes. Anyone have any ideas?

I did it the way redz shows how to do it and it works just fine. I see no reason to try and find a short cut.
