So when it says:
Helmet Speakers - No earphones allowed. Helmet speakers are allowed.
What is the difference between "helmet speakers" and earphones? Lets say I ride with only 1 earbud in, that counts as illegal?

Thats some good info, but also remember that there are city ordinances too. It says there's no sound limit in my state (Maine) but I know for a fact that there are sound ordinances in a lot of my surrounding cities...
