Default yoshi exhaust mod?

Ive justbought a used yoshi RS-3 pipe for my f3 and I want to get rid of the rash on the side and change its sound. Ive searched the forums and found some but not allanswers to my questions. I would like to shorten it by 6 inches to get rid of rash and add shorty look. My questions are 1) How do I shorten baffle (as shown in pic), or can I remove thebaffle all together? Im not afraid of a loud pipe. 2) Do I have to repack it,can I just pack the back side?3) What is the benifit of packing? 4) Is this gonna cause any harm to my bike? Thanx in advance for your help, Nick

you can in fact shorten that internal section. I took mine and cut the tip off of that mesh section. I'd remove the baffle as well, but its not required.

Just cut 6 inches off the end of the baffle. It will be a bit louder yes. I would not remove the baffle, it will be hella loud and sound really crappy too. Packing helps absorb the sound and quiets it down. It will not harm your bike in any way shape or form no matter what way you decide to go.

Thanx to all for your answers. Where would I buy the packing material from? Can I just pack the back side, or do I have to put the baffle back in and pack both sides?
