Default Wire Harness Cleanup (600 F3)

The elec tape is peeling and all in all it looks like crap. Finished pulling about 4' of **** poor DIY led light wiring out of the bike (zip ties, bare bulbs and a toggle switch). But I'm feelin a lil OCD and want to clean things up a bit.

Has anyone usede Scotchloks for splices? I use them at work to splice telephone wires. Very secure, water resistant. Catch is most phone wire is solid copper core. And how to clean up the wire harness itself? Replace the elec tape? Anyone used tubing to secure it?

Would somone post a pic of what they consider a clean wiring?

I've used Scotchloks on a car with great success. I don't think the wires from a car to bike differ that much so if done right you should be okay. If I were you I would peel off all the old electrical tape and replace it with new tape. I just did it on my F4i and it turned out nice, and pretty easy to do. As far as what is "clean wiring" that is a personal preference. I'm sure the guy who owned my bike before me thought his wiring was clean but to me it was a pile of junk. I consider clean wiring to be no exposed wires, and make sure they are routed nice and tight so they are not flapping in the wind.

Gold crimp, solder and heat shrink. Stagger the splices so you don't get a big pile, even though that method leaves them pretty thin. I redid my entire harness a few years back and it can be wrapped down pretty thin if you take your time.
