Winterizing my bike
anyone have any tips for me or anything i should do to my bike before i put it away? Changed the oil in july so it should still be good, could i swap out my brake fluid or should i wait till riding season?
Are you storing it outside? Inside? Covered? Heated?
Best case scenario. Heated garage on stands, with a battery tender. Add some fuel stab to a half empty tank, fill it up to the brim, run it for a few minutes to ensure fuel gets into the carbs/jets/injectors.
Do your brake fluid in the spring.

Corrupt has it right. For short term (over winter) - full tank, Long term (years) and indoors - bone dry tank and carbs. Fresh oil, coolant, brake fluid and fork oil at the beginning of the new season will always help but they are more dependent of how much you ride and how obsessive you are. Although, I have always if you should swap the engine oil before you store the bike or after. Is it better put fresh oil in before the bike is stored and the contaminants settle? Or when you are going to start riding again so the oil hasn't separated from its detergents. I guess short term do it before you store the bike and long term both?
