Hey,

I dnt have a repair manual so I need help. I am missing the end to my right side handlebar grip (the side with the engine kill switch) and my grip keeps falling off. So I bought some grip glue and tried to glue it. I am an idiot and I got glue where the throttle cables are. Now it keeps sticking. I can turn it, but is there a way to clean it so it doesnt stick. what should I do??? My bike is my only transportation and the throttle is sticky now cause of that glue. It isnt glued tight, just really, really sticky!

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

geeze, a new bar end could have been what....$10?

maybe try to find some kind of solvent that will disolve the glue. Other choices...new throttle control cables and bar end.

 

You'll need some glue solvent, depending on what you used. You can try paint thinner or rubbing alcohol first if you can't get to a hardware store.

Seriously man, eBay has tons of bar ends cheap. And I don't get why your grip is slipping off just cuz the bar end's gone? They don't use any adhesive to put it on in the first place and yet it still stays put.

 

The guy who owned the bike before me glued the grips on, so whatever he used wore out the rubber grips and they slip off now. P.S. The Bar end is broken inside from when the previous owner dropped it. Also, the reason I tried to use glue was because it was cheap. I used grip glue. I dont have alot of money for new ends and throttle cables and what not. I just wanted some advice. I dont need harsh critizism.

Thanks for your help guys. I downloaded the manual. AWSOME!!! I fixed it right up she runs good as new. Also, I got some carbon fiber bar ends. I found out my my bike was so sloooooooooow. One of my spark plugs was not in all the way. SCREW CHAPPARREL MOTORPSORTS!!! Those guys suck! I will be doing all my own repairs from now on.

Go to Home Depot and but some "Goo Gone". Do it well

Take it apart and clean up the mess 100% and leave no residue. then you dont have to worry about any you left
