Default RE: why a 520 conversion?

well a local shop owner with many years of racing under his belt and bike maintance and repair, had a basic maintance class today, we talked about this topic, he said 525 is the way to go on the street, and showed us a vortex sproket with 3k miles on it... JUNK!! but i think i am going to swap in the -1 up front and see how it changes it up. then later on ill swap +2 out back if i want a little bit more...

what company makes a +2 steel sproket.. if any? 525 chain...

On a related note...for my F2...

http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/RK_Quick_Acceleration_Chain_Kit_520_Honda_CBR600F2--14-RK-RK1062918R.html

What do you think? Is this a good deal? (haven't checked total with shipping) Also, can you give me any helpful hints about doing this upgrade? I don't get to ride as much as I would like, so If I can get 10,000 miles out of it, it would be years before I would have to worry about it again. Can anyone tell me if it's steel or aluminum? Is RK a good brand?

i've used RK in the past...emphasis on "USED"...but not use...
i only use DID now...i guess me, my friends and some board members have had bad luck with RKs cause others seem to think they are ok...i think they are crap.
uhhh...what? no one has had any problems with DID? well then...that would be the chain to get!

ps...i got the quick accel kit too...thing stretched more than MY waistline during my wife's pregnacy!

Here are the only ones for my bike at sprocket center:

TheStealth/DID combo seems nice. Should I go for it, or do a 525 conversion in steel? They don't seem to offer one here.

Also, I don't like the look of a gold chain for my bike...looking for silver. Do DID's only come in gold? If so,function over form, I guess...

if it'll take you miles before you hit 10K, then just do the 520 conversion since it's the cheapest on the site, or go with the 530 VM...why the heck is your bike using 530?!?!?!?!

call up sprocketcenter, maybe they can hook you up. it used to be a 1 mang operation...and brian did it all...hopefully he's still there...if he is..tell him to hook you up with a 525 conversion.
