"The wheels on the bike go click..click..click" but only at low speed
Sorry for the " " smite in title...lol, for some reason the song "The wheels on the bus go round and round...round and round...round and round" got stuck in my head as I was thinking of a title to describe my problem
.
Anyway, hi, I am new to the forums here. Recently got myself a 98 CBR600 F3 and happy as hell about it for the most part. Got a very nice deal on it. This is my 5th bike (though 2 of them were bought just this season and quickly flipped for a profit to fund the purchase of this one
).
The problem currently at hand which just started yesterday it seems is occuring (at least only noticeably) when starting off from a stop. Once I start to accelerate away from a stop I hear a series of "clicks" that occur from somewhere. They don't sound like they are coming from the engine, but somewhere either below or outward from there. Sounds about the same as a car with a joint problem. Clicks 3-4 times typically then stops. Speed of clicks may possibly be relative to the speed of the acceleration as well, but not 100% sure on this one.
Any ideas on what this could be? Thanks a million and I'm happy to be here

In addition to inspecting the wheel bearings. I would also look at the chain. Make sures its properly lubed and not too tight. If the chain is too tight, it can cause a clicking, usually at the front sprocket as the chain makes its way around the small sprocket. Also, check your brakes. could be just the brake pad rubbing on the rotor, however that is usually a sqeak, not a click.
